I'm slow...

It's official, I'm crazy slow at painting. I've already spent over four hours on a picture that's only half a page and I still have to paint the background and the foreground. Now I've started a new painting because we've switched locations and I'm a little worried I may not finish it in my remaining 6 hours. Scary thought, I know.

Another thing I'm slow about it is doing my stupid SAT prep homework. I end up rushing to do it on the train home the night of the class or like yesterday doing it until the moment I leave. I always manage to do it all, but I have yet to master any of the vocab excpet the few words Sara quizzes me on. I end up spending my time on websites, like the garden state one.

Slow at: my book, my summer reading, my summer math, waking up, writing to people, getting ezpasses, as well as returning them, showering, making decisions, there's probably a lot more but we'll just leave it at that.

New! I've decided to leave you with an inspriational quote at the end of every post. Actually it probably won't be inspriational, but you'll live.

Napoleon Dynamite: Stay home and eat all the freakin' chips, Kip.
Kip: Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
Napoleon Dynamite: Since when, Kip? You have the worst reflexes of all time.
Kip: Try and hit me, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: What?
Kip: I said come down here and see what happens if you try and hit me

The real official date of THE party

August 7th. Probably no earlier than 4pm. At the compound. If you are reading this, and have met a member of the Horstmann family in real life, that means you're invited. Dress: casual. Celebrating: Mary's college graduation, Anne's culinary school graduation, Steven's birthday, my dad's birthday (2months late.) Moved due to Anne starting her externship the following weekend. Bring your bathing suit if you want to swim.

August 8th. Compound Field Day. You've seen the events. Recently requested: sudden-death tennis challenge. First to 7 wins. Mary and Jane are already practicing for the talent portion. You should be, too. Events are not team-based, unless people decide they want to be. Teams proposed to me last night: Team Horstmann, Team Boyfriend, Team Bougie.... create your own!

Anne, you would be jealous

So, the Camden Riversharks set off fireworks every Wednesday and Friday home game during the summer. But somehow, I had never seen them before. But tonight, we were looking out the window, and there it was, fireworks!

First of all, they used a whole bunch of those ones that look like glitter falling from the sky. Second, it was a huge show! OK, not huge compared to the fourth or new years, but huge considering they do it twice a week all summer long.

Anyway, now we're going to have dinner parties in meng's restaurant on fireworks nights. That is, if he finishes building it before fireworks are over for the year.

filing desperately needed!

I desperately need someone to do filing so I can find the things we need to move. If any readers know someone responsible who is looking for 10-15 hours of work, to be done this week if possible, I am offering $10/hour utt. Please ask them to email me.

Jane, if I hear so much as a peep from you about how filing sucks, I will tell that story about the time in the car.
